Anti-Malware software must be constructed as "Tools" rather than as so-called "Complete Solutions".
The entire mind-set of the "Giant All-in-One" Anti-Malware solution is in large part responsible for the weak flaky security mess we find ourselves in today.
Better designed anti-malware software can more easily co-exist with other anti-malware tools and should be able to do so but the trend has been for some time now to "intentionally" design software to literally "attack and destroy" or at least "disrupt" the software of other anti-malware products...(to be continued)

Take note that I try as best I can to NOT use the word "VIRUS" but rather the more correct term
"malware".
So the term "Anti-Malware" is more correct than the term "Anti-Virus" also the term "Anti-Malware" encompasses the virus (which is rarely written anymore), worms, trojans, spyware and even rootkits.
